Richter, Rückert, and
Songs and Ballads: Translated from Uhland, Körner, Bürger, and Other German Lyric Poets (1842), which appeared in
George Ripley’s
Specimens of Foreign Standard Literature. He also published theological writings, contributed to the
Dial, and wrote a biography of
William Ellery Channing,
William Ellery Channing: A Centennial Memory (1880).
